“Disconnection”
Mixed Media on Wrapped Substrate – Original Artwork by Andy Ocegueda
Disconnection explores the tension between what is seen and what is concealed. The piece remains intentionally wrapped in newspaper, a deliberate artistic choice symbolizing the noise, confusion, and fleeting information that surrounds modern existence. Rather than unveiling what lies beneath, the wrapping itself becomes part of the narrative, a commentary on our detachment from truth and the beauty hidden behind distraction.
Each fold, tear, and aged crease of the newspaper contributes to the raw aesthetic of the work, blurring the line between protection and concealment. The fragility of the wrapping reflects the fragility of human connection in an overstimulated world.
To ensure the piece’s longevity and preserve its original integrity, a custom clear protective case is included. This enclosure safeguards the delicate wrapping while enhancing its presentation, allowing collectors to experience the artwork’s depth and symbolism while maintaining its value over time.
